Goal #1: 400+ Members

Have a voice.  From basic membership to generous Silver and Gold Donor Membership packages, we want you to join us today.  With over 100 members and growing, we know we can hit this goal!  The more members we have, the bigger our voice.  Come join us today and learn about how you can make a direct impact on your child’s education.

Goal #2: $30,000 By 9.30.2018

Make the choice.  We strive to provide robust programs and supplemental resources to students at Eastwood Elementary.  Educational programs such as field trips, guest speakers, STEM nights, and social events for families augment your child’s educational experience.  We are working to support the school with the goal of providing every child with their own chromebook laptop.  Whether it’s an indirect donation through the purchase of our Silver or Gold Donor Membership Packages or a direct donation in any amount, know that your dollars will be spent to support the school in creating a well-rounded and well-equipped environment.

[Events]: 100 Mile Club

September 20, 2018

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Thank you for enrolling your child(ren) in the 100 Mile Club at Eastwood Elementary!

The 100 Mile Club® was started 20 years ago by Kara Lubin, a teacher in the Corona-Norco Unified School District.  100 Mile Club® is now a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to provide to all individuals the opportunity to experience fitness and TRUE personal success by Accepting the Challenge of running (or walking) 100 miles at school during a single school year.  Students use and experience life skills based on The Pyramid of Success, designed by the legendary basketball coach, teacher, family friend, and 100 Mile Club® supporter, Coach John Wooden.

We have Accepted the Challenge, and we are so excited! Starting Tuesday, September 25th, participants will report to the green field area between the lunch tables and Rainbow Rising Portables, stretch out, and run or even walk a little bit. The miles and love for running begin to build almost instantly!  When your child reaches 25 miles, he/she will be presented with a fantastic t-shirt that is designed to show off your child’s accomplishments throughout the year.  This year, we will also offer mile credits to students who participate in designated local 1-5K charity walks. News will be sent to you via email every month.

Through the journey toward 100 miles, your child will practice personal goal setting, team spirit, perseverance, poise, confidence, and honest self-evaluation. When your child reaches 100 miles, he or she will be awarded with a beautiful gold medal. Every participant will receive a special certificate celebrating their total miles run at the end of the year.

You can visit 100 Mile Club website at www.100mileclub.com, or contact me for more information about the program.  We look forward to celebrating your child’s accomplishments both on the track and in the classroom.
