ACE monitors needed!

We need parent volunteers to be our class monitors for Spring Session 2018!Without class monitor, our ACE classes cannot start. The monitor helps with taking attendance at the beginning of class, locating students who are missing from class, and dismissing students to their parents at the end of class. For each day that you volunteer, you will receive a tuition discount for your child to enroll in ACE after completion of the session.

If you have even an hour to help on Tuesday or Wednesday after school starting the week of April 17, please contact our ACE coordinator at eastwoodipsface@gmail.com.

Our first Eastwood Jog-a-thon is going to be held on Wednesday, April 11th. It is our biggest fundraiser of the year! Please see JOG-A-THON page for more details.

Morning Coffee

Come join us for some coffee and light refreshments after the drop-off on next Tuesday, February 27th.  This is a great way to meet other parents, and learn about the school and the PTA. We would love to see all of you there.

General PTA Meeting

The upcoming February 27th’s General PTA Meeting has changed from the morning to the evening. The meeting will be held at 6:30 pm on February 27th.  We will be discussing what’s happening in school and district. An important agenda for the night will be electing the nominating committee. It’s a small group of people which is responsible in finding amazing parents who are interested in joining the PTA Executive Board for the 2018-2019 school year. All positions (President, EVP, 2 VPs, Auditor, Financial Secretary, Secretary, Historian, and Treasurer) are open for consideration and each candidate will be elected. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! All members of the nominating committee have to be PTA members. Please refer to our Membership Info page to become a member today! Or you can contact Amy Liu at membership@eastwoodpta.com if you have any questions.

Family STEAM Night

Next Thursday, March 1st is Eastwood Elementary’s first Family STEAM Night! The event is from 6 pm to 7 pm. STEAM is the abbreviation for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math. It’s an integrated approach to learning that encourages students to think more broadly about real-world problems. Come join us for a night of fun and engineering with your children! The school will provide all the materials for participants to build and decorate their very own Leprechaun trap in honor of the month of March. Students and parents can work together and decide on how complex their trap will be that night.

In addition to an awesome night of your family working together, there will be March themed games and a photo booth!

Watch the video below for more details and to register for this fun night! The school will buy supplies based on the number of children registered.

Special Note: If we get 50 registered families…Mr. Jetzer will dress like a Leprechaun!!
